My daughter, Haylee Kate, was diagnosed with APML Leukemia, which is a rare form, on November 21, 2011 at 8 years old. I thought this would be a good way for me to get my thoughts and feelings out and to let others know about her ups and downs throughout her treatment.

Family Camp with Camp Sunshine

We went to Family Camp with Camp Sunshine this past weekend and HAD A BLAST!!  It was a great way for us to see other families going through the same stuff we've been through as well as spend a great weekend in the outdoors as a family.  All of the 'patients' there had some sort of cancer, lymphoma, or tumor.
We did archery, played putt putt, went gold panning, went fishing, went paddle boating, played soccer, explored the camp (now I don't feel as nervous since I've seen where she will be), played 'get to know me' games with the other families (30 families in all), played 'Minute to Win It' type games, and spent some time with just the other parents getting to know one another.  The kids had a blast!!!  There was a bonfire the last night of our stay, complete with smores.  The last day/morning showcased a slide show of the entire weekend.  Pics are below...enjoy!!  We absolutely did! :)

Our legs were killing us!!!  But we were still smiling :)
