My daughter, Haylee Kate, was diagnosed with APML Leukemia, which is a rare form, on November 21, 2011 at 8 years old. I thought this would be a good way for me to get my thoughts and feelings out and to let others know about her ups and downs throughout her treatment.

December clinic visit

December's clinic visit was today and it went great!  Haylee's doing great and the doctors are happy with her progress as well.  Her counts are still a little too high, but they are coming down...it's just a slow process.  Her ANC is 3100 and they want them around 1500 at the highest.  Medications were increased...again.  Just when I got used to the number of pills and what days of the week to take them, it was changed again!  I'll get used to it...the most important thing is that she's doing and feeling good!

We've got alot going on this month - we're going to spend the weekend in the mountains with family this weekend, Haylee is going to an AFLAC event next weekend at the airport, a Christmas party with Nonna and Paw Paw, winter break, CHRISTMAS, then up to Nashville to visit more family around New Year's.  We have so much to be thankful for this year!!

Haylee goes in on January 3 for her quarterly bone marrow aspirate as well as getting started on the ATRA again (it's the beginning of a new cycle - the 3rd one...only 6 more to go!).
